"Prayer Priority" Request for Monday, June 30, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
GOD'S TESTIMONY and PRESENCE, thank you for manifesting your grace and glory over the weekend at a family wedding in New Bern, NC and for allowing each of us to be your chosen vessels to deliver your word to our own spheres of influence in the face of great resistance. Forgive us for the times we fail to have the courage to speak out or when we act in the flesh and thank you for those breakthroughs when we do manage to yield to your Spirit and successfully become submit to you and become your testimony to a watching world. AMEN AND AMEN
ETERNAL SPIRIT and FIRE, bless the Bray Family Support team and meet their every need every day but most especially on this day and at this time of the month. May they have the finances to meet their pledges and promises and willing hearts to sacrifice for the work of our missions to the needy and to the nations. Empower the Bray Family July communications efforts for all the projects and missionaries they serve and may the seed of the word fall on good ground. May there be that outpouring of funds so needed for OSM and the Brays this summer. We look to you and trust you to meet every need. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Selah. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death" (Psalm 68:19-20).
June 27, 2008 - Focusing on the Family
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, June 27, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
PRAISE THE LORD for answers to prayer as Bill and Ivy focus on the family this weekend in New Bern, North Carolina where their niece Katherine is gathering with family and friends to witness her marriage to David. Praise the Lord that Grandson Michael this morning passed the second hurdle in his efforts to seek employment as an officer with the Virginia Department of Corrections in Fluvanna. AMEN AND AMEN
LORD JESUS, SAVIOR AND KING have mercy on our children and grandchildren and all the children of this world now growing up without a sense of family authority. We pray for OSM missionary candidates, staff and families that they will have the grace needed to overcome the temptations and lies of American culture that have so degraded and redefined the family in sinful disobedience to Your will. Use Bill Bray's loving actions, role model mentoring and teachings to reflect the beauty of your salvation and church as reflected in the family. Help us all to learn how to honor our parents and not be among the end times generation that is characterized by being disobedient to parents and authority. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE DAY: "....husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church" (from Ephesians).
June 26, 2008 - Testing our Trust in God
"Prayer Priority" Request for Thursday, June 26, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
PRAISE YOU LORD for your grace and supply in these times of financial testing, trials and great difficulties. You know what is best for us Father and if it is $60 a tank refills at the gas station -- or $100 for that matter -- we know that you are there to meet our every need. We thank you for the successes and answers to prayers during this month of June and for the challenges to our faith in this time of inflation and growth. We thank you for the first successful Volunteer Day at the OMS office yesterday and stronger connections you are giving with the prayer movement in Central Virginia and with local churches. We praise you for the growing favor we have found in the local community and with other ministries to indigenous missionaries and international students. Thank you for renewed friendships and a ministry that is growing and being blessed in every way. AMEN and AMEN
STREAMS ON THE DRY GROUND we turn to you for a financial miracle and breakthrough as we come to the end of this month. Give us the faith of little children as we come to you with our needs. May we have the supply needed to pay living allowances and every other bill. Lord you know our needs and our resources better than we, but we unite in faith to ask you for all that is needed as we sit down to pay the bills on Monday. Touch hearts and give us the clear financial miracle that is needed. We ask you to provide full and part-time jobs to our children, and to remove every hindrance in this area. Help us to overcome the challenges and give us the grace to trust you in every trial and test. May Bill and Ivy be especially used in the lives of their family and relatives as they travel to New Bern, North Carolina this weekend to attend the celebrations of the marriage of niece Katie Bray. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Luke 18:16).

30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
MIND OF THE LORD, thank you for revealing yourself with power and conviction to guests and friends who visited the new OSM offices in Charlottesville during the Open House on Sunday. Thank you for giving Bill and all his advisors great wisdom and unity about the critical decisions that are being made about the future of indigenous missions support at this time. AMEN AND AMEN
STREAMS OF LIVING WATER, flow into the ministry of OSM and Brays and all of the missions and missionaries they support with financial blessing this month and all summer long. Starting with June, we pray that at least $5000 a month will be raised to match the challenge grant for their support, as well as for the equipment, supplies for volunteers and supporters for more support-raising staff. Help everything be ready for the newsletter mailings as the Charlottesville volunteers gather this week to send out the missionary newsletters for July. AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Luke 18:16).

SPIRIT OF HOLINESS...thank you for cleansing us from sin our lives and in the lives of co-workers so that we might please you in all our ways, bringing your glory before the nations as you have commanded us in the Great Commission. Use us to send the light to cultures, places and nations where darkness is greatest. AMEN AND AMEN

30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
THANK YOU LORD for the ability that you have given Bill Bray to write the vision. AMEN
MIGHTY GOD AND LAMP OF THE LORD, we pray for Bill Bray on this busy eve of the Overseas Students Mission Open House that he might have the special graces and skills needed to write out the vision for the future of this mission and the logic behind it. Help him with the other vision casting materials that need to be put into place by Sunday and also in his mailing and writing of newsletters and publications for July distribution. We ask you Lamp of the Lord to light the way into new relationships and paths of righteousness in closed lands. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17)
June 18, 2008 - Pray for the Nations TONIGHT
"Prayer Priority" Request for Wednesday, June 18, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
CHRIST FAITHFUL AS A SON OVER GOD'S HOUSE, we thank you for the Charlottesville Prayer Center where the Brays will be leading two hours of Wednesday night prayers for the nations tonight from 8-10 PM EST. We thank you in advance for blessing all those who join us tonight in Charlottesville and around the world. AMEN AND AMEN
FINGER OF GOD, we are your house so point out our sins of unbelief and any idol or stronghold in our lives that is displeasing to you. Lead us into repentance and revival, making us channels of blessing to the poorer churches and missions overseas. Meet every need, especially for every need related to the Open House on Sunday that this event might be done according to your will in a way that glorifies you. May the seed planted bring a rich harvest. We especially pray for efforts to respond to the Matching Fund Challenge grants this month and throughout the vacation months of the summer. Open the windows of heaven and pour out your financial blessings. Grant us O Lord, more than the $10,000 a month needed to operate the Charlottesville mission headquarters this summer. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).

"Prayer Priority" Request for Tuesday, June 17, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
JEHOVAH JIRAH, we thank you that you always supply all our needs according to your riches in glory, that your word says the laborer is worthy of his hire, and your servants will never lack. AMEN
FINGER OF GOD, reach down into our various circumstances and situations, bringing great glory to your name by helping us to meet every living allowance and cover every bill. May the enemies of God and of outreach to overseas students not be given any cause to say that God's arm is too short! Give wisdom to the staff as they budget and spend. Send faith and touch many to give sacrificially to the Bray's support and to the mission projects and outreaches of OSM. Grant special favor this week as we continue to invite local Christians to come and see what God is doing at the new offices in Charlottesville. May many come to the Open House and be challenged to volunteer and give to this work of the Great Commission. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).
June 15, 2008 - Restore Alpha Male Leadership to our Fathers
"Prayer Priority" Request for Sunday, June 15, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, thank you for the powerful message you are giving your prophets and the grace to live it out and proclaim to the next generation through Overseas Students Mission and the new movements of your Holy Spirit now being birthed for Generation Y. AMEN
DOUBLE PORTION, on this Father's Day and all year long we pray that you will give Dr. Bray and those he influences the grace to be true Alpha Males for Christ as better husbands, fathers and leaders. May all see in them the relationship of Christ and his Bride fully realized. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).
June 13, 2008 - God is moving in Generation Y
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, June 13, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
THANK YOU ALMIGHTY GOD for your faithfulness in showing mercy to "Generation Y" and for calling Bill and Ivy Bray to serve and assist the next wave of missionaries from among 18-34 year olds. Thank you for calling Stephen Asare and others of this age group to join with Overseas Students Mission and for giving OSM a wide open door to reach out to them in the Name of Jesus. AMEN
SURE FOUNDATION, protect and use Dr. Bray's son Billy for your glory as he leads a group of twenty-something's on a trip to Virginia Beach this weekend. Through this event, may these young people learn to recognize the anti-Christ spirit of the age, hate sin, and turn from the temptations of current culture. May these teens find new life in Christ. Call more Generation Y missionary leaders into our fellowship and may they be used to reach the nations in the Name of Jesus, the Son of God and King of Kings. AMEN and AMEN
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: He said, "In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry" (Jonah 2:2).
June 12, 2008 - OSM Open House June 22
"Prayer Priority" Request for Thursday, June 12, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
THE ANOINTING, SPIRIT OF GLORY, we thank you for visiting our weekly Wednesday night missionary prayer service at the Charlottesville Prayer Center last night and for using this time of waiting upon you to help birth the next generation of student-led missions to indigenous peoples and nations. We thank you for promising to meet our every need according to your riches in glory and that you never fail. AMEN
COUNSELOR, may the Brays find much favor and support in Charlottesville as they invite local leaders, churches, mission agencies and pastors to come to the OSM Open House on Sunday, June 22. Guide in all the preparations for this event and bring out many from the international community as well as townsfolk and collegiate missionaries. Help Bill and Ivy to find time to make phone calls and continue to meet pressing editorial deadlines for the missionary mailings now due at the same time. Provide volunteers to help with the growing work load at OSM in Charlottesville. AMEN and AMEN
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: He said, "In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry" (Jonah 2:2).
WHY AN OPEN HOUSE NOW? "Shouldn't you wait and have your open house when the students return in the fall?" ask local friends. That would be true if our main ministry was to local students here at the University of Virginia--but that is not our calling. That work is being done very well by International Students and many other campus missionaries. No, our work at OSM in more indirect. We rely on ISI and other members of the Association of Christians Ministering with Internationals (ACMI) to identify well-seasoned and discipled believers who are definitely being called to go back to their homelands with the Gospel. That's when the ministry of OSM comes into play. We help these ones to organize their missions, find friends and raise the support they need to go home as missionaries for Christ. So our Open House invitation is being extended to everyone who ministers to internationals and overseas students locally so they can become acquainted with the vision behind OSM. Please pray daily for us as we do this work for Christ and His glory.
June 10, 2008 - Pray for Fathers, Families
"Prayer Priority" Request for Tuesday, June 10, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
DOUBLE PORTION, we thank you for the emphasis this week on fathers and the many preparations for Father's Day Sunday. We remember and thank you that you have blessed us with fathers and especially that you have blessed Bill Bray with a family that includes three children and three grandchildren. We all thank you for all our fathers, including our spiritual fathers. AMEN and AMEN
FATHER GOD, LORD JESUS use our men to be true Alpha Males for Christ and better Alpha Dads to their children. Bless all our children through their dads. Keep them from sin and idolatry just as you keep our fathers from anything less than making you the center of their lives. May all fathers and future fathers be done with lesser affections, loving the Lord Jesus supremely. We especially pray for fathers in their priestly roles who are facing special times of trials, temptations or need at this time--and for their children who are suffering as a result. AMEN
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: He said: "In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry" (Jonah 2:2).
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUEST: It is no secret that for three generations now, America has been facing a great attack on the family, marriage and fatherhood in particular--and we are exporting this poison propaganda to the whole world through American secularism. I have made this one of my main prayer concerns this year and hope to give special emphasis to this problem as we focus on raising up the next generation of indigenous misssionaries through OSM. This is a very personal concern of ours as we minister to our own family.
June 9, 2008 - California at the Crossroads
"Prayer Priority" Request for Monday, June 9, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
SON OF DAVID, we thank you for the good work of home missionaries Howard and Debbie Campbell on the streets in California and for those at Exodus Mandate working with distressed Christian families and churches who must make many difficult choices on faith about leaving the public schools for Christian education. Thank you Lord for those who are standing firm in loving opposition to the flood of anti-Christian propaganda coming from the California media mills, courts and government offices. AMEN
MIGHTY GOD, we look to you to supply the pressing financial needs of Bill and Ivy Bray this month as well as all the various missionaries and missions they are helping in California and around the world. Bless and inspire their efforts to write compelling yet Christ-honoring newsletters and support-raising materials this week. We also pray for protection of the missionaries in California as they are in fierce spiritual warfare as they expose themselves to slander for the sake of the Gospel. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: He said: "in my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry" (Jonah 2:2).
June 8, 2008 - COSIM Begins Today in Chicago
"Prayer Priority" Request for Sunday, June 8, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
TRIED STONE, we thank you for the leadership, members and friends of the Consultation on the Support of Indigenous Missions which begins their annual conference in suburban Chicago on Monday. We praise you for raising up this association to promote partnerships with native missions, and increase support of indigenous missionaries. AMEN
ROSE OF SHARON, use the COSIM movement to influence American churches and individuals so that many hundreds of millions of dollars and other forms of support may flow into the support of indigenous missions. Use Bill Bray's active support and involvement with COSIM to help many more people to become aware of Overseas Students Mission and help meet the 2020 faith goals for OSM. AMEN
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: He said: "In my distress I called upon the Lord, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry" (Jonah 2:2).
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUEST: Although I have not attended all the meetings of this association over the years, I was able to attend the organizational meetings nearly a decade ago and last year went to represent CIS and World In Need. The potential of this movement is great to help us find and support overseas students and visitors who want to return to their homelands with the Gospel of Christ.
June 6, 2008 - Prayer Weekend Begins in Charlottesville
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, June 6, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
BREAD OF LIFE, we thank you that you are using Bill and Ivy Bray and the OSM team to send out a new generation of young native missionaries to China, Myanmar and throughout all of Asia, especially to places that have been devastated by Cyclone Nargus and the Sichuan earthquakes last month. AMEN
HOLY SPIRIT, send a spirit of repentance over the church at Charlottesville, in Virginia and throughout the USA during this Weekend of Prayer at the Charlottesville House of Prayer. Lord, make us aware of how close your coming judgement is upon the churches of this land and the people of the USA. Forgive us for our sins as individuals, families and as a nation we plead. AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK, "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart" (Proverbs 3:3).
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S REQUEST: Everything that we do here in our ministry at OSM is based upon prayer and springs forth from prayer. That is why we start and end each day with a short prayer meeting--and why we have dedicated a sacred space for prayer right in the middle of our offices and in our home as well. I have found that God doesn't do anything that doesn't come out of prayer and obedience to him.
June 4, 2008 - Weekly Prayer Meeting Tonight!
"Prayer Priority" Request for Wednesday, June 4, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
Praise the Lord for the growing impact of the global prayer movement in Charlottesville, Virginia at the University of Virginia and in businesses and churches. Thank God that a special room has been set aside for prayer anytime during office hours at the OSM national offices and that OSM has been assigned to lead two hours of prayer for student missions outreach at the Charlottesville House of Prayer on Wednesday nights. AMEN and AMEN
MAN OF SORROWS, attract people of faith to the OSM Weekly Prayer meeting at the House of Prayer tonight and every Wednesday night from 8 to 10 local time. May many join us in spirit from their homes or offices during these hours. AMEN and AMEN
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK, "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart" (Proverbs 3:3).
June 3, 2008 - Pray for the Family
"Prayer Priority" Request for Tuesday, June 3, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
LORD OF HOSTS, we are thankful to you for the ways that you have blessed and protected the Bray Family Missionaries and their loved ones in California, Illinois, Greece, New York, North Carolina and the Philippines. Your grace is sufficient to meet every need and every crisis both personally and in the ministry. AMEN
LORD OF HOSTS, we pray for the extended family members facing crisis today especially Becki and Tom as they deal with the death of Tom's mother in Chicago, for Katherine as she faces cancer surgeries and treatments on the eve of her wedding later this month in New Berne, for Lourdes as she faces intense pressures in Athens and Corinth, for Michael as he seeks new employment in the Charlottesville area and for Juanito in Manila as he hosts Walter White from MBI on his visit to Manila ending today. Lord, we ask you send forth your holy angels to heal, protect and provide the Bray Family members who are going through crisis and special opportunities. Keep all their marriages strong and accountable and bless those who serve you as parents or sons and daughters. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart" (Proverbs 3:3)
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S REQUEST: One of the meanest tricks of Satan and his demon friends is to attack the extended families of missionaries, seeking to destroy and harm them, thus distracting the missionaries from their focus on ministries for Christ. However each of these attacks, evil as they are, is an opportunity to draw closer to Jesus Christ and enjoy his special love, grace and mercy. Please pray for us that we will be better husbands, wives, parents and children, aunts and uncles in the midst of attacks from the dark side. Pray especially for husbands and fathers that they may have grace to represent you more fully in the family.
June 2, 2008 - Strengthen Hearts of Summertime Partners
"Prayer Priority" Request for Monday, June 2, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
PRINCE OF PEACE, we thank you for the many wonderful new friends made last month in Washington, Charlottesville and Chicago. We especially thank you for the new links that were established with other mission agencies and student outreaches at the Association of Christians Ministering to Internationals (ACMI) in Washington. We also praise you for the renewal of old friendships and supporters in Chicago and among the many indigenous mission agencies in Charlottesville. You are our Prince of Peace, dear Lord! We worship and adore you. AMEN
MY MAKER, strengthen the hearts of Bill and Ivy Bray as they focus this week on writing the July newsletters and other materials that will spread the vision and call more Americans to renew their giving to missions. Prepare the hearts of the Bray Family supporters, and all supporters of all the missionaries and ministries the Brays are assisting through OSM and other agencies. May all the supporters be generous in their giving this month and have the financial prosperity needed to make sacrifices for the Gospel of Christ. May they be strong partners who remain faithful this month and throughout the summer months. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart" (Proverbs 3:3).
