Introducing Bill's Prayer Blog
August 29, 2008 - Pray for Our Families Labor Day Weekend
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, August 29, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
CHRIST OUR LIFE and BRIDEGROOM, as your bride, we thank you for putting us in human families and marriages. Your wisdom in doing this is so beyond our understanding. We thank you for designing this way for us to learn how to love and respect one another, to protect the weak, and meet our needs. We thank you for giving us your laws on how to clearly conduct ourselves in human marriage and relationships. AMEN and AMEN
LORD OF THE SABBATH, as we in America go into this long holiday weekend to mark the end of summer, we pray that you will bless our family picnics and discussion times. Through these hours of fellowship, worship and thanksgiving, we pray that we will find practical ways to love and minister to our loved ones and the friends who join us in rest and celebration. Keep us from sin and divisive, negative or faithless conversations that don't give glory to you. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:11-12).
EMERGENCY AID FOR ORISSA: Thousands of Christian churches and homes have been burned or damaged, and many killed and wounded this week in India by organized violence from Hindu hate groups in Orissa and elsewhere. We are urgently collecting emergency financial aid for indigenous missionaries there and sending our first aid check today. Please prayerfully consider joining us in sending emergency relief to the missionaries we support in Orissa. You may give online at our Bray Family Website or by mail to OSM or CIS. (Several other well known indigenous support agencies are sending aid including Christian Aid, Advancing Native Missions and other members of COSIM so you may want to give through them as well.)

SURE FOUNDATION, give Bill Bray great wisdom and miraculously attract home office staff and leaders worldwide to serve with him as advisors, mentors, pastor/chaplains, student leaders and supporters who will connect this movement under the Lord Jesus Christ's leadership. Help us locate the next generation of indigenous student missionaries. Help us to use Bill Bray's new blog and other staff blogs to start the chains of "faithful men" and grow this apostolic band virally to reach the whole world in in our generation. AMEN and AMEN

PROPHET MIGHTY IN WORD AND DEED, use Bill Bray to speak forth your creative word and be faithful month after month and year after year in casting the vision for the next generation of native missionaries. Use Bill's editorial work on the OSM Messenger, Founder's Focus with Dr. Bob Finley, and the President's Report to rebuild the support team for OSM. Lord, we especially look to you to supply the monthly budget needs to keep the mission going during these early months of rebirth. Use the monthly and special mailings to open many doors in churches, universities and among friends in Texas as the Brays plan their next outreach mission to Dallas September 25 to October 6. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:9-10).
August 18, 2008 - Reaching America's Lost Generation
"Prayer Priority" Request for Monday, August 18, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
HEAD OVER ALL THINGS, we thank you for giving us unity with one another in prayer and for the miracles you are doing in and through us as we "pray-read" these daily cries to heaven. Thank you for the tears and sacrifices of pastors, parents and all intercessors who reverantly agree with you in prayer that your Kingdom will come and your will be done. AMEN
FRIEND OF SINNERS, we cry out for your grace to be poured out on the millions of this lost generation of Americans whose souls have been stolen from their Christian families, churches and missions by the power of the media and Internet. We ask that your Spirit use America's indigenous missionaries to release these captives. We pray for musical missionary evangelists Howie and Debbie Campbell, the Exodus Mandate team in California and across the nation, OSM and others such as Dr. Bob Finley that are being empowered and helped to accomplish their callings and missions for You Lord. Use the missionary newsletters for September that are being produced and mailed this week. May their be no delays in delivery to open hearts. Meet every need of the Bray team and the missionaries the Brays serve as they plan and prepare for Fall outreaches. Finally, may many more missionaries come to the Bray team for help. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:9-10).
August 17, 2008 - God is moving through THE CALL DC
"Prayer Priority" Request for Sunday, August 17, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
PRINCE OF THE KINGS OF THE EARTH, faithful witness and first-begotten of the dead, we praise you for giving Bill and Ivy Bray the energy and strength to fast, pray and repent with about 75,000 young people from among the NextGen leadership who gathered at THE CALL DC this weekend on the Washington Mall. We thank you for visiting this holy convocation with your Holy Spirit and for the many decisions that were made for salvation and consecration. AMEN
ALPHA AND OMEGA, be with the Bray missionary team as they follow-up on the contacts and ideas that were shared at THE CALL DC. Help older missionaries like Bill and Ivy to step up to be faithful spiritual aunts and uncles to these young people. Give the students hearts to listen to older and more mature voices of wisdom. Lead these young people into all truth and help them to find balance in the decisions they are making, and most of all we pray that you will use the Brays and Overseas Students Mission to help resource this revival movement and connect them into your will for nations. We ask you Lord to help OSM work in close harmony with the losely-knit leadership network of this movement and provide links to indigenous missionaries worldwide and with the Association of Christians Ministering to Internationals (ACMI). AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:9-10).
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUEST: One of the most powerful revival movements sweeping through the NextGen student leadership on American campuses is THE CALL, an effort to bring fresh consecration, holiness and intercessory prayer into the lives of young people. Although some of the causes which are celebrated at the events seem faddish and have a youthful lack of balance in the eyes of many older missionaries, the movement is being blessed of the Lord. THE CALL is birthing thousands of prayer meetings including an effort this fall to start 24/7 prayer meetings on every college campus in the USA. It is viral and Internet based but balanced with daily events including a network of prayer movements, one which urges men to rise and pray two hours a day for the nations. Pray for this movement and it's leaders that it will continue to be humble and submissive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and maintain a balanced, strong emphasis on the reaching the nations for the Lord. Pray that it will be careful to stay completely biblical and based on clear written commands of the Lord Jesus Christ. Give thanks to the Lord that during this age of backsliding in the organized churches (i.e. apathy, cynicism, disobedience to our Lord, idolatry, sexual impurity and unbelief) here is a movement of young people who are earnestly seeking to glorify the Lord and submit themselves to His will. This is a growing phenomena that can open many doors into the hearts of young people for our OSM missionary staff and volunteers on campus so pray that we will interact appropriately with it and find much favor and cooperation with the leadership.
August 15, 2008 - Pray for the harvest fields white unto harvest
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, August 15, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
JUDGE OF THE QUICK AND THE DEAD, we thank you for giving us vast fields of souls white unto harvest and for using our words and work to send forth laborers into those fields through our work and prayers. We thank you for giving us life and salvation, and for sending us into your harvest with co-laborers from every nationality. AMEN
KING OVER ALL THE EARTH, as Bill and the home office team face editorial deadlines today and in the week ahead, we ask you to empower them to focus diligently on the communications work of the mission. Use them to bring glory to you in their support raising work for indigenous missionaries at home and overseas. Guide in the choice of words and in the many editorial decisions involved in communicating the vision for this harvest. May the books, newsletters and emails we send out be blessed by you and bring a large return. AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "...behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest" (John 4:35).
August 14, 2008 - Social networking web ministries needed
"Prayer Priority" Request for Thursday, August 14, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
UPHOLDER OF ALL THINGS, thank you for bringing baby boomers Bill and Ivy Bray to lead OSM at this moment in history and to discover new ministries and supporters among their peers. We thank you for giving them the vision and love needed to plug into existing networks that are responding to the changing times and opportunities on campus. AMEN
SON OF THE LIVING GOD, we ask you to raise up a Web Master and spiritual leadership staff who speak "Internet" as their native tongue. Help Bill Bray find diligent workers who can help OSM do social networking for new missionary movements among the Facebook and NextGen students. Lead headquarters staff to join us who have the burden and gifting to work with advisors, mentors, pastors and student leaders on the 850 campuses that now have international student ministries. Lord, help us to go virtual and viral this year as we seek to communicate to leaders among the 700,000 overseas students. We ask you for the grace to discover, equip and support the web communicators we need to do this critical work. Free Bill and Ivy from the snares of discouragement, making them diligent in calling, speaking, traveling and writing. AMEN AND AMEN
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:6-8).

"Prayer Priority" Request for Wednesday, August 13, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
GOD WHO SUPPLIES ALL OUR NEEDS, we thank you for the opportunities to exercise faith and bring glory to you as you call us to take on huge financial challenges and bring glory to you through our weaknesses. AMEN
JEHOVEH JIRAH, our provider, we pray for our missionaries and projects which are facing financial deadlines and opportunities today and throughout the summer months. Speak to the hearts of your people and pastors of congregations to be generous during the summer crunch months. May gifts come in by the thousands of dollars. Help us to be diligent in our efforts and work, and we also look to you to provide for every need in ways that surprise us and honor you. AMEN and AMEN
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: "...My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong" (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
August 12, 2008 - Miles for Missions, Cars and Gas!
"Prayer Priority" Request for Tuesday, August 12, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
SON OF MARY, we thank you for supplying the transportation needs of this mission over the years as the Brays have traveled to over 65 countries, sometimes going back to the same country 16 or more times. AMEN
SCEPTRE of God we pray that you will provide the vehicles, gasoline, and donated frequent flyer miles that are needed to carry forward the travel plans of the mission at this time and in the months ahead. Guide the Brays in finding another urgently needed car for the family; may one even be donated. We pray that you will touch hearts to supply the many "full tanks of gas" needed to travel the high ways to minister the Gospel, to commute to the headquarters office each day, and to reach students and student leaders located over great distances. We pray that you will lead us to friends who can donate frequent flyer miles for fall mission travel as well. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God" (Matthew 5:6-8).

LORD JESUS, thank you for Chaplain Moore of Exodus Mandate, Phil Zodhiates of Response Unlimited and the faith partners and supporters of Frontline Ministries who have invested resources and finances to help California pastors and families face the crisis in education as this new school year begins. AMEN
ALPHA AND OMEGA, guide Bill Bray and Ivy today as Bill takes the family car and drives to Lynchburg for an important series of meetings with the communications and leadership teams which are gathering in Virginia for a national pastor's conference at Liberty University. May the right decisions be made concerning the communications effort and also as pastors from across America face the challenges of opening more K-12 Christian schools and education programs as ministries of their local churches. AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:6-8).
August 10, 2008 - Pray for Beijing Olympics and all Chinese Outreaches
"Prayer Priority" Request for Sunday, August 10, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
MY SHEPHERD, thank you for the persecuted Chinese believers and missionaries who are praying and seeking opportunities to witness for your gospel today in Beijing and throughout China. We also thank for many from every nation that are in Beijing during the Olympics as athletes, officials and spectators who are also seeking opportunities to witness for your glory. AMEN AND AMEN
LAMB OF GOD, SON OF THE FATHER, we pray to you who sittest at the right hand of God the Father that you will hear the prayers of the millions who are praying for the nations of China today and for the Olympic games witnessing that is now going on as we pray. We ask you to use OSM and all other international student ministries which are reaching out to Chinese visitors in the USA and other lands. We ask you to help Bill Bray and the team to identify and support many thousands of additional indigenous missionaries to China. Enlarge your Body in China dear Lord. Pour out your spirit on the missionaries and churches there and protect them from their persecutors. Comfort those in prison today for their faith. Especially use the next issue of OSM Messenger and Dr. Bob Finley's letter to speak to more hearts about the need to enlarge our OSM ministry to Chinese peoples. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "...they published it, and were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak" (Mark 3:36-37).
BACKGROUND ON CHINESE STUDENTS: The largest single group of overseas students at the University of Virginia and throughout the United States are from the 56 nationalities of China. Nearly half of the 700,000 foreign students in the USA this fall will be from China! One of five of the world's people is from China and these are trading with all nations, an open door for the Gospel. Chinese people are one of the top priorities for the rebuilding of OSM.
August 8, 2008 - International Students school kick off this weekend in Charlottesville
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, August 8, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
SON OF GOD, we thank you for Brother Steve Braintwain and the other International Students missionary staff who minister on the grounds of the University of Virginia. We thank you for their 2009 school year kick-off event Saturday night in Charlottesville. We also thank you for similar evangelistic outreaches on over 850 college campus' this fall, especially the OSM outreaches at Christian Bible Institutes and colleges such as Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. AMEN and AMEN
BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY, may Bill and Ivy be used of you to shine forth your love to overseas students this weekend as they provide hospitality and welcome them to Charlottesville, and at several similar events in the weeks ahead. AMEN
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S REQUEST: This fall, over 700,000 overseas students will be coming to the United States to study at our schools of higher learning. Some will find Christ as Lord through outreach efforts by campus ministries, churches and individuals who welcome them into their homes. Much witness is done in word and deed through friendship evangelism. Some overseas students will be called to return to their homelands as missionaries. Helping to identify, train and find support for them is the mission of Overseas Students Mission in cooperation with hundreds of international student ministries such as those sponsored by our friends at International Students. Both ISI and OSM were founded by Dr. Bob Finley, Chairman of OSM and Christian Aid.

LORD JESUS, HEAD OF THE BODY cause Bill and Ivy to always honor their marriage and remain faithful to each other in every way. Help Bill to consistently love Ivy and help Ivy to always respect Bill and may they hold fast to all the other vows they made in Wheaton, Illinois and renewed again last year in Colonial Williamsburg. May their relationship portray your love for the church and always point others to you, and may it always continue to be missionary partnership in service to you. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:3-5).
August 6, 2008 - Pray for Exodus Mandate California Postage
"Prayer Priority" Request for Wednesday, August 6, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
THANK YOU ALMIGHTY GOD for giving Chaplain Ray Moore and the Exodus Mandate team in California great favor with local churches and for their work nation wide helping Christian children escape ungodly, secular education for the safety and protection of Christian education in their homes and local churches. AMEN
WONDERFUL GOD we pray for the supporters of Exodus Mandate as they are preparing to mail 100,000 letters to Christian parents and pastors in California. We thank you for making all things ready, and we pray that you will miraculously touch the hearts of friends to give $15,000 this week to help pay for the postage and list rentals that are now due. We ask you to use Chaplain Moore as he makes telephone calls and interacts with key supporters this week and throughout the rest of August. Lead him to call the right friends and anoint him with the right words as he pleads for the sake of Christian children. May those who are able give generously say yes to his emergency calls for help. Bless the workers at Response Unlimited and all the craftsmen and workers who are involved in creating this outreach effort.
August 5, 2008 - Texas Team Reunion October 4
"Prayer Priority" Request for Tuesday, August 5, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
TRUE LIGHT, we thank and praise you for the many friends and partners in Texas who have supported the Bray's missionary ministry for decades, especially those in the Dallas Fort Worth area who remain true to the Word of God and faithful to your Great Commission. AMEN
MORNING STAR, by the power of your Holy Spirit we ask you to call out many Texas Advisors and Mentors who will help the Overseas Students Mission identify and send forth missionaries to the nations. We also ask you to renew and expand our A-TEAM of prayer partners and supporters in the DFW area as well as in Tennessee and Arkansas on the Bray's mission tour to Dallas and back in September and October. We especially pray for our friends at Christ for the Nations and other Bible schools; at Gospel for Asia and other missions; at DTS, Southwestern and other seminaries and those to come from every university and college campus in Texas. Lord, we ask you by your Spirit to begin a virtual OSM movement on the Texas internet as school starts this fall. Lord, we claim scores of churches and groups in Texas to be a strong Next Generation sending base in the Southwest. AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:3-5).
August 4, 2008 - Cry out for President Bush in Asia
"Prayer Priority" Request for Monday, August 4, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
ROCK AND FORTRESS, you have not shut President Bush up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set his feet into a large room. We thank you that he is going to speak face to face with the leaders of Korea, Thailand and China in the next few days. AMEN and AMEN
O LORD GOD OF TRUTH, we ask you to protect, encourage and strengthen President Bush as he speaks with secular and Christian leaders in key Asia nations on this trip. We pray that he will speak against the traffic in Burmese and Thai sex slaves, and for human rights in Korea and throughout China. Give him courage and wisdom like Queen Esther of old to speak truth against oppression in Asia. Open the ears of the leaders of powerful leaders that they will fear the living God and grant freedom to believers and to the leaders of free societies that they will continue to increase their protection and support of Christian missions in their lands.
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUESTS: This will probably be President Bush's last opportunity to speak out to the free neighbors of North Korea and Myanmar, some of whom are covertly part of the decades of human rights abuses and oppression in nearby states and both of which are the closest free nations which can allow greater protection to mission outreaches into those lands of terrible anti-Christian persecution. It will also be his last opportunity as President to plead for increased human rights and religious freedom in China. We need to pray that God will open doors for President Bush to witness for the truth and the courage and wisdom to yield to the Holy Spirit. Since the hearts of kings are in the hands of God, we need to pray that these leaders will have a change of heart toward Christian missions and minorities.
August 1, 2008 - Korean Church Breaks Ground Today
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, August 1, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
CHIEF CORNERSTONE, thank you for blessing the ministry of OSM to various international communities here in the USA including the many Korean churches and missions that have been fostered through the work over the years. We thank you for the ground breaking ceremonies this Saturday (August 2) for the new Korean Community Church building on the campus of the training center in Charlottesville. Lord, you are able to do much more than we ask or think. AMEN AND AMEN
UPHOLDER OF ALL THINGS, we praise for the speedy construction of a new Korean church building and for the ministry of OSM missionaries to the Korean community in Charlottesville and the Korean Diaspora everywhere. We pray for the supply of every need to our Korean brethren and for the persecuted churches in North Korea. May the doors of freedom reopen wide in China as well as in North Korea and may the Gospel go forth again without hindrance during the Olympic games and in the years to come. May the OSM support network be used to mobilize thousands of additional missionaries to the millions still unreached throughout East Asia. Lord, look upon all of us who are praying for Asia and China during the upcoming Olympic games. By your Holy Spirit, use this event to focus the prayers and faith of millions for the Chinese and Chinese indigenous missionaries. AMEN and AMEN.
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day" (Psalm 91:4-5).
