30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
EVERLASTING LIGHT, thank you for all the people who are helping our missionaries and projects like the Overseas Students Mission to have national and global outreaches through the Internet and World Wide Web. These include John Henry, Ricky Cain and Roy McClanahan as well as their wives, families and friends. AMEN
GOD'S FIRSTBORN, we particularly pray today for John Henry who is helping to set up the OSM Internet Prayer Ministry from his home office in Dallas. May he understand the Constant Contact tools and master them, helping to not only set up the Prayer Partners ministry but other aspects of the program. We especially pray for his wife Elaine that you will give her much strength. Meet the emotional, financial and physical needs of this couple as they do this critical work. AMEN
GOD'S FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD, as we celebrate the Christian feasts of All Souls and All Saints this weekend, use our missionaries to witness to the fears and hopes of children as the world focuses on death and horror. May children come to know You as victor over death and be freed from the terrors of demons, hell and evil through the Gospel. AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "What shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, 'I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.' It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy" (Romans 9:14-16).

30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
SON OF THE HIGHEST, we thank you that You have given us the faith, freedom and passion to meet every Wednesday night to pray for All Nations and that you have also commanded us to pray for those authorities that govern us. Thank you for meeting us as two or three come together in your Name. AMEN
GOD OF THE WHOLE EARTH, we ask You to provoke more intercessors to join us on Wednesday night in person and in spirit as we pray with You for All Nations. May new and serious Prayer Partners join us. Anoint Bill Bray as he leads the intercessors this week at the Downtown Prayer Center in Charlottesville. Guide us as we pray for your will to be done in the upcoming American elections. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, 'I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.' It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy" (Romans 9:14-16).
October 27, 2008 - Thank God for counselors, advisors and friends
"Prayer Priority" Request for Monday, October 27, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
WISDOM OF GOD, we thank you for the Boards of Directors of our missions as well as other counselors, advisors and wise friends who help us to oversee the spiritual life of Bill Bray as well as the missions and projects which the team is assisting. We thank you that you give them advice to help correct, discern and follow both your will and ways. AMEN
SON OF THE MOST HIGH GOD, help Bill and Ivy as they prepare 2008 reports on the ministry to date and write up preliminary budgets and spending plans for 2009. May their work be accurate and complete. We pray for the Board of Directors as they meet with Bill Bray on Tuesday. Help them to approve and improve the preliminary budgets, review 2008 expenditures, and preview plans to promote and develop the work this year and next. Give them wisdom to counsel wisely and give Bill a heart to discern and follow. AMEN
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUEST: As we go into the critical months of November and December, we plan on spending most of our time meeting with leaders and advisors, seeking their input on the last year and suggestions for the work ahead. This is a very important time in the life of the ministry. Without the advice and input of many counselors, it is certain that our efforts will fail. Although our faith and reliance is ultimately upon the Lord, we realize that one of the ways we hear his voice is through the counsel of godly authorities.
October 26, 2008 - Preparing for 2009 Missionary Boot Camps Now
"Prayer Priority" Request for Sunday, October 26, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
GOD'S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, thank You for submitting to the Father by being born as one of us. AMEN
TRUE GOD, may we also learn submission and obedience by following in your steps and completing your sufferings through training the next generation of indigenous leaders. Guide Bill and Ivy Bray as they plan the calendar and write the financial spending plans for the 2009 Missionary Boot Camps this week. Help them to get administrative and financial reports ready for a national board of directors meeting this week and for local church budget meetings throughout the month of November. Lord, we ask you to attract your anointed vessels to us, those whom you want to join this work as well as the additional Prayer Partners and Supporters needed to support them. Help our existing supporters to overcome their financial challenges and make generous gifts to the mission this week. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. (Romans 9:14-16)
October 24, 2008 - Weekend Outreaches in Charlottesville
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, October 24, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
LORD OF LORDS, we thank you for the Volunteers and Prayer Partners who are joining us to work and interceed as we send out the November Call to Prayer, the OSM President's Report and other newsletters every month. AMEN
TRUE GOD, give Bill and Ivy special favor this weekend as they reach out to the local community in a special way, and help them to do so in a greater and greater way between now and Christmas. Particularly bless them as they join the International Students from the University of Virginia this weekend for a hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lead Bill and Ivy into relationships with the Chosen Vessels whom You have selected to return as missionaries to All Nations. We pray that you will surround the Brays with many students, mentors, advisors, volunteers and supporters who have heard your voice and are obeying your will in this matter. Keep your people from discouragement, fear and despair during the current trials and may many give sacrificially to help the mission end the year strong and in the black. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
October 23, 2008 - 2009 Prayer Planner Hot Off the Press
"Prayer Priority" Request for Thursday, October 23, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
AUTHOR OF ETERNAL SALVATION, we thank You for our publishing partners at YWAM in Seattle, GFA in Dallas and STL in Atlanta and Xylon in Orlando. We praise you for the talent and energy that goes into producing great Christian books by authors like Marit Newton, George Verwer, K. P. Yohannan and so many other modern day prophets and apostles. AMEN
FORERUNNER, we pray that many churches and other venues will open their doors to the Book Table Mission of CIS and that Bill and Ivy will be able to distribute many tons of books and other media that proclaim the all nations missionary challenge to the next generation. We especially ask you to help the team distribute the new 2009 PRAYER PLANNER from YWAM. AMEN
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUEST: Bill Bray has chosen two new books to promote for holiday gift giving this year; the 2009 YWAM Prayer Planner and K. P. Yohannan's Touching Godliness Through Submission. Almost every year since he began the book table ministry in 1964, Bill has promoted the famed prayer and planning diary. "Next to the Bible," he says, "this is the most important devotional book in my life." The new book from K.P. (author of the missionary bestseller, The Coming Revolution in World Missions) has a message that the Christians of the USA need to hear in order to survive during the current time of judgment on backslidden, heretical and apostate churches.
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
October 21, 2008 - Good Samaritan Fund Helps Needy Missionaries
"Prayer Priority" Request for Tuesday, October 21, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
FAITHFUL WITNESS, we thank you for your emergency provision for the widows and children of your servants, and especially for needy missionaries that have forsaken all to follow You but face sudden emergencies. Your promised that no one who gives up houses, land or family for your sake will be left desolate. Thank You that we can be channels of blessing to those in need. AMEN
GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, we ask you to replenish The Samaritan Purse fund that Bill Bray and the Board established last year in order to reach out to needy missionaries and their family members in emergency need. May Bill always have discretionary funds that he can use to respond to emergencies and to give to your servants who are in distress. We ask you to raise up and connect a network of individuals and churches who will endeavor to help the Brays keep this poor box full and ready to be used in times of crisis. AMEN
EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST -- Please pray for the growing flood of Christian refugees being forced to flee their homes in Mosul, Iraq. As we write, over 2000 families have fled, often with only the clothes on their backs as Muslim terrorists continue to randomly kill innocent Christians on a daily basis. Many of the Christians are fleeing to nearby Kurdish areas where there is less persecution. The government seems unable to stop the genocide as the ethnic cleansing campaign forces Christians to flee from areas where their ancestors have lived for centuries. Pray that OSM will be able to find and support Kurdish and Iraqi chosen vessels who will go back and help establish new missions among the unreached of Iraq. Pray that Christian refugees will be able to quickly find new villages and homes free from Islamic terror. Pray that the government will be strong and just, able to bring peace and protection for the Christian minority.
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUESTS: Many times, Bill Bray finds himself in a situation where he stumbles across "a wounded victim along the road" as he travels in his work helping indigenous missionaries. It may a real victim of an accident, crime or sudden disease. Sometimes it is the child of missionary pastor who needs help in school or in some other situation. At other times, such as now, it can be a sudden shortfall of income due to economic downturns, disasters, famines, genocide, recessions or wars. The Board of Directors has authorized a special "Good Samaritan Fund" to be set up to help in these situations, it is coded 099-WMN for the purpose of designating gifts and offerings for this purpose. It is reserved for one-time or short-term special aid to missionaries and their immediate families.
October 20, 2008 - Volunteers needed to watch, pray and work
"Prayer Priority" Request for Monday, October 20, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
SON OF GOD, we are thankful for the volunteers who come out to pray on Wednesday nights and to work on the November prayer letter mailings on Missions Volunteer Day, on the 24th of every month. AMEN
SON OF ABRAHAM, we pray for those who volunteer time and talent to serve this ministry. Coming out to pray and work on prayer letters, websites and newsletters. We pray for also for those who cannot come and work but continue to support this ministry financially, even though in many cases it requires sacrificial giving. We are thankful for those who are keeping missions like ours afloat in these times of national financial crisis with their offerings. Bless them, dear Lord, and prosper those who are sending in faithful gifts to help reach All Nations for Christ. Bless all those who are suffering to keep this mission alive. AMEN AND AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
October 17, 2008 - Short Term Missions and Internationals, Leighton Chinn
"Prayer Priority" Request for Friday, October 17, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
FIRST BEGOTTEN OF THE DEAD, we thank you for the impact of short term missions in our own lives and churches over the years, and especially from the teams led by indigenous missionaries. AMEN
GOD BLESSED FOREVER, we pray for many successful outcomes from the Fellowship of Short Term Missions that are meeting in convention this weekend in Atlanta. We especially pray for a powerful impact from the messages and workshops led by international student ministry expert Leighton Chinn. We pray that OSM will be able to exhibit and participate at FSTM events in the future and support a new generation of international students who are leading short term missions back to the unreached areas of all nations. AMEN and AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you" (Jeremiah 29:11-12).
BACKGROUND ON TODAY'S PRAYER REQUEST: Although the economic crisis of 2008 is further curtailing travel from the USA, millions of Americans have been exposed to the needs of unreached people groups and nations through short term missions. As a result, we have seen that thousands are more willing now than ever to support indigenous missionaries and international students who are chosen by God to return to their homelands with the Gospel. In the days to come, OSM wants to expand our help to international students who are raising support to lead short term missions to their homelands during summer breaks and holiday times. This is one of the unique ways that OSM is helping not only the students but churches, indigenous missions, and other international student ministries (ISM's) to respond to the needs of the future. Pray for the 2009 operating budget of OSM to be fully subscribed, including the parts supporting the Fellowship of Short Term Missions participation.

30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
GOD'S ELECT, we praise and glorify You that you make the desserts blossom, dry riverbeds flood, the sick well and that You meet our every need. We thank God that you, not man or the government or the economy, are the source of our supply. We bring sacrifices of praise to You this day, thanking you for your graces. All that we have comes from You and we give it out of your hand. AMEN
DAYSPRING FROM ON HIGH, we agree with Colin Campbell from WAR ON CANCER that the Bray's and all our missionaries and staff will fill their calendars with divine appointments between now and Thanksgiving. Bless them with favor from pastors and church mission committee leaders as well as from business and mission agency heads. Break the iron fist that dares to shake itself in the face of God's Elect and your servants. Expose the lies and deceit of Satan and his servants and give the Bray's favor with church budget committees in the days to come. May the entire 2009 budget for OSM and the Bray's ministry be subscribed before January 15. AMEN
VERSE OF THE WEEK: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you" (Jeremiah 29:11-12).

VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all (II Corinthians 4:16-17).

October 1, 2008 - Leadership Alert - Call for Prayer for Dallas
"Prayer Priority" Request for Wednesday, October 1, 2008
30 Second Pause for Prayer from Bill and Ivy Bray...
Our missionaries, Bill and Ivy Bray, are in the Dallas area to hold a Texas Team Reunion with supporters on Saturday October 4 and reach out to international student ministries and leaders in North Texas and eventually to the whole state. Texas has scores of universities, colleges and Bible schools that attract foreign students from the closed Arab lands, China and India. Please pray for the following prayer items over the next seven days and whenever you think of the Brays and their missionary ministry.
- FLOODS OF FUNDS - While it will usually takes several years to develop church budget and regular support, at the beginning it is essential that the Brays find a handful of partners who can give in a substantial way to cover the monthly budget of the new mission. About $12,000 a month will be needed in 2009. Pray that the Lord will raise up these special partners.
- CHURCH PARTNERS - Pray for pastors, missions chairman, and church groups that will also include the Overseas Students Mission and the Brays in their regular prayers and support. Pray for churches that will help by providing "Friendship Families" to host students in their homes for holidays.
- VICTORIOUS VOLUNTEERS - All kinds of volunteer workers are needed, not only to work face to face in the discovery process with international students but in national leadership and in the World Wide Web ministry. The only way to offer OSM services to 875 campus outreaches and over 600,000 students is on the Internet. God has given us new technology to master and use.
- ADVISORS AND MENTORS - Student mission leaders need older counselors to help train them and connect them to the churches and supporters in the community who will help to send them back to their closed nations. Pray that Bill and Ivy will find favor with retired missionaries, ACMI leaders and others from ISI, IVF and similar student ministries who will help fulfill this need.
- ALLIANCE AND PARTNERSHIPS - Without collaborative efforts with international churches, cross cultural ministries and indigenous mission agencies such as Advancing Native Missions, Christian Aid, Partners International and many others the task of the Great Commission will not be completed and Christ's return will be delayed. Please pray for good working relationships.
- BOOMERS AND ENCORE CAREER SPECIALISTS - One reason for Bray Team Reunions is to gather together talented retired executives, leaders and homemakers who can help reach out to international students. Encore career volunteers are needed both at the local, state and national level. Pray that we will be able to connect with these talented people.
- GIANT KILLERS - As we face the final frontiers for the Gospel in unreached nations, tribes and tongues people of great courage and faith are needed to lead the intercessory prayer teams and volunteer. The enemies of the Kingdom are both within the churches and on the outside. Only courageous faith and obedience will defeat them and raise up the next generation of indigenous missionaries.
- PLEASE FREELY reprint and circulate this prayer list as widely as possible and enlist others to pray with you. Please stay in touch with us for fresh news and prayer requests.
